TTR Stubai Jam 2011 - Quiksilver Wir Schanzen Final

After five contests with many different riders and a great atmosphere along the whole tour the highly motivated finalists came to snatch the Wir Schanzen crown on the Stubai Jam on the 09th of April 2011. Unfortunately there was a little change in the schedule but that did not harm the typical Wir Schanzen ambiance in any way. The Moreboards Stubai Zoo setup stood there like spick and span. Special guest on this day was High Ruth: Blue sky and sunshine painted a nice tan on all the faces. But unfortunately good ol´ Ruth also brought along a stiff breeze so that the pro-line had to be closed. Hence the organizers decided together with the participants to cancel the final. Despite the high riding level and the expectedly great performance of the riders it was just too risky. “Safety first” – the health of the competitors is the highest priority. But anyway that was not in the way of having a lot of fun in the Zoo. During the Red Bull Best Trick Session the riders had to overcome a Curve-Down-Curve-Box. Tobias Michel showed the best performance and could wrap up this session on his snowboard. After that there was a Jam Session on different jib obstacles and the medium line where many prizes of the sponsors could be picked up for a cool trick. Finally the leaders of the overall ranking which has come up over the first five tour stops were crowned as Quiksilver Wir Schanzen overall winners. Among the kids Tjark Fritsch stood on top of the podium. In the girls category Nadine Härtinger took home the tour victory. Michael Botzenhart can now call himself “Quiksilver Wir Schanzen Champion” in the men’s category. Beside fame and glory the best riders of each category could win Quiksilver Surfcamp trips to Moliets/France, festival tickets of Red Bull, prize money and a lot of stuff from Ride Snowboards, K2 Skis and Activision.
